Gunther Schultz is one of the Survey Corps soldiers hand-picked by [Captain Levi](https://anilist.co/character/45627/Levi) to join the Special Operations Squad, both for his strength and his distrust for [Eren Yaeger](https://anilist.co/character/40882/Eren-Yeager). Being a soldier of the Survey Corps who survived multiple encounters with Titans significantly affected Gunther's personality, making him deeply obedient and loyal to his superiors. Within the Special Operations Squad, Gunther seems to be the most reasonable one. However, he is shown to get irritated when his comrades joke around with one another, showing he also possesses a stern side and does not take kindly if a soldier doesn't focus on the task at hand.
